I'm not sure how we managed to let this story slide by, it managed to get lost amidst our backdated storytelling of our Laos and Cambodia trip and the recent stories that we've managed to quickly write down. So, weeks go by and we almost forget, at least until now when we end up pulling a story out that was almost three full weeks ago...
Way back then, fresh off of our of Holiday, just wanting to relax we decided that we needed to get together with a few of our ex-pat friends, Ed and Christine, who are approaching the end of their short time here in Xiamen.
So what better then to get together for a nice Chinese meal and then an evening of a Chinese pastime? No, not shopping, the other one.
Ok, actually we didn't do anything uniquely Chinese, we went to an excellent local Korean barbeque and then we went out to a Japanese karaoke bar. But it's still all Asian, so it counts.
Dinner was excellent, we had found this restaurant months ago and loved it so when they suggested it as someplace they like it was easy to agree. From there we wandered over to the karaoke bar where we had previously made fools of ourselves with Jose and Edlin. We felt better this time since both Ed and Christine told us that they couldn't sing...

Stories from the past...
Well, we were terrible as usual, and Ed and Christine flat out lied to us. They both did a good job of singing, truthfully Tina does a good job too and I'm actually the only one that can't carry a tune to save my life.
Both Tina and Christine both ended up in the spotlight on different occasions, getting up to sing duets with some of the Japanese patrons that were also in there.
All in all a good night of fun, from there we attempted to show them our favorite little bar but it was locked up tight, we figured that the owner must not have been back from the New Years' Holiday yet...
